When it comes to the healthy eating habits, almost all of us know what not to do, but few of us know what to do. Let me give you the most powerful rule of eating correctly which can make phenomenal changes in the way you look at food if you apply it in your life:
It is not only important how much and what to eat but also what to eat when.
It is one of the most important concepts completely neglected by most people struggling with weight and health issues. It is not only important how much and what to eat but also what to eat when. We all know that breakfast is the first meal of the day, but we all falter at the time we have it. There is nothing known as ‘brunch.’ If you are having it every day, then you need to change the way you eat. Ideally, you should be having your first meal within 60 to 90 minutes after you wake up.
Too long a gap after waking up breaks down your muscles for energy. Similarly, the gap between lunch and breakfast is generally too long and this gap means hunger and cravings. So, you need to have a healthy, high protein, low G.I. carbohydrate, optimum fat and adequate fibre rich snack between your breakfast and lunch.
Too many variables? Don’t worry. A small bowl of sprouts with veggies and chicken or cottage cheese or a whole grain sandwich with vegetables and chicken or cottage cheese is all you need. Lunch should be ideally between 12:30 to 2:30 pm. But, a slight delay is acceptable if you adjust your day accordingly. Then comes the dinner, get away with it not beyond 7 pm with something light on your stomach.
Simple things done on a regular basis bring huge results and I can bet that you will soon realize that you have made substantial progress towards a healthy lifestyle which everyone dreams of, but a very few achieve. So, All The Best for your step towards a healthy lifestyle!
