World Cancer Day is a global initiative that aims to unite the entire world in the fight against the cancer epidemic. It takes place on 4th February every year. An intrinsic part of this work is raising awareness and education about this deadly disease and forcing the people from all walks of life to take action that would ultimately lead to saving lives.
Eliminating the feeling of “Cannot Be Cured” from the patient’s heart is Sambav’s major line of action
Cancer is among the leading cause of deaths worldwide. This illness knows no boundaries and has devastating impacts on families across the globe.
Cancer statistics describe what happens in large groups of people and provide a picture in time of the burden of cancer on the society.
- About 8.8 million people die due to cancer every year out of which about 4 million die prematurely due to improper care and late detection.
- In the year 2016, an estimated 1,685,210 new cases of cancer were diagnosed, and about 595,690 people died from the disease.
- In 2016, the most common cancer was projected to be breast cancer, lung and leukemia.
Being identified with cancer is indeed a life-changing experience. It is hard to handle
the news, and it gets worst when the treatment begins. The journey that each one goes through is different and exceptional. For millions of people around, chronic illness is a battle that they fight every day.
Serious illness has a tremendous effect on your relationships and lifestyle. Right from when you are diagnosed, to the treatment and the physical changes that a person goes through, the mental and psychological fight is beyond imagination.
