The World Health Organization (WHO) proudly celebrates its 70th “World Health Day” on 7th April 2018. It intends to draw the attention of people globally towards the importance of being healthy. It is a fundamentally vital requirement for any country’s progress to ensure that its citizens are aware of the diseases present in the environment, ways of preventing them and getting treated at reliable healthcare facilities.

Sambav was founded on the principle that all people should be able to realize their right to the highest possible level of health.

The theme for 2018 World Health Day is Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere.

According to the WHO, about half the world today is lacking primary health care facilities, and its goal is a world where every individual has access to the healthcare services they need without worrying about going into debt paying for them and experience any financial hardships.

It has been observed through experience and research time and again that Universal Health Coverage is achieved when political will is strong. At the 70th anniversary of the world health day, the WHO calls upon the world leaders to live up to the pledges and the promises they made while agreeing to the substantial development goals in the year 2015 and commit to concrete steps to advance the health of all people.
