Obesity has become a problem that can be seen all over the world except for a few under developed countries. In India, more than 27 million children and adolescents aged between 1-19 are overweight according to the Ministry of Health, New Delhi. A study conducted in 2013, indicates that obesity rates in Indian children is increasing not just in higher socio-economic society but also in below poverty line community. This excess body fat was found in both groups belonging to 16 out of 28 states in India.

This access is relatively divided across the community with low-income people having less than the socioeconomic group.
