Did you know that about 1.2 million people in India are living with HIV and 1 in 5 of them don’t even know that they are infected? This is an alarm for many families to get HIV tested to prevent further complications. The Indian Health Assembly has provided a unique opportunity to all the health ministers to create HIV testing booths everywhere in the state to transform the health of millions of children and families.
It is sad to say, but many children and adolescents affected by HIV are beyond reach of mainstream services.
It is sad to say, but many children and adolescents affected by HIV are beyond reach of mainstream services. They are too far away, too poor and worst all stigmatized and discriminated against. Many healthcare professionals have suggested solutions to combine health services, including on HIV with social and economic support. But, so far the health care bodies were able to provide services to only 27% of the general public. There are still so many children who need support and need be admitted to preventive programs.
Few simple steps taken will make the child’s life free of HIV:
- Identify symptoms at an early stage – even during 1st trimester
- Focus resources straight down to families and community
- Develop sustainable environment for children
In a changing world, we need to continue to understand the attitudes and concerns of affected communities and the impact of complex drivers of both generalized and concentrated epidemics, such as sexual behavior and networks (including technology/social media use for linking up for sexual purposes, chemsex), concurrent sexual partnerships, gender inequality, gender-based violence, and stigma. We need to understand what puts our population at high risk of HIV and where incidents of HIV infections are occurring.
Therefore, in view of above-mentioned points it is really important to have the correct tools to monitor health to end AIDS. Sambav EHR has specifically designed an app to closely monitor your family’s health since early stages. But to be successful we need to push our boundaries, be more innovative than ever in protecting ourselves and our loved ones.
